WISHING EVERYONE THE VERY BEST FOR 2007!
Dec. 31st, 2006: Rang in the New Year with the guys (Victor, Thomas & Danny) at the Four Seasons Hotel (their performance as '7th Avenue'). Yes, they are the best/most professional 'Chinese' band in Vancouver. What a treat to have had these 3 musicians perform at the Media Club (the 3 songs & 'Highway Star' = 4) with me.
Dec. 21st: From a connection here in town there is interest in my talent from a group in Europe. We'll see what happens there.
Dec. 19th: I sang a high E in the vocal lesson and Lorraine said I will be able to sing it in "relatively short order". Great news. As Victor said when talking about the E note that is sung at the end of the live version of 'Phantom of the Opera' that high E is "scarily high". Yup.
Dec 14th: With clearance from Nightwish's manager I've posted the videos on my website, You Tube & Myspace. I received the raw camera footage of the gig from Ryan today in the mail and starting watching it. There's some pretty neat stuff in there like 'how am I' before the gig & audience conversing throughout.
Dec. 13th: Package was delivered to Nightwish's office early today. Later in the day I checked their news and they have posted a deadline for demos to be Jan. 15th.
Dec 12th: Another vocal lesson tonight with Lorraine Reinhardt went well. See this page also for a nice photo of Lorraine. (I attended the Dec. 15th performance of the Vancouver Chamber Choir. I enjoyed seeing & hearing Lorraine perform her solo parts). Next lesson we will work on nailing the high E at the end of 'Phantom of the Opera'. Ryan, at McCann, has added my testimonial and a link to my site on his web site.
Dec. 9th: Victor sent me some photos that Vince Wong of Vision Nouvelle took. They're great! See 'Photos of the night' - main page or 'Solar Fire' - Media page.
Dec. 7th: Package is sent to Nightwish in Finland for their need of a new vocalist. They will be choosing their vocalist in the next few months.
Dec. 6th: Victor, Thomas & Danny just viewed the DVD on a large TV screen with audio loud (of course!) and they were very pleased! I've yet to view all the 'in between' raw footage - no time yet - and am looking forward to that. Great job everyone! I send the package to Finland tomorrow and we see what happens. Rolf has seen his camera footage and was very impressed. Robbie looks forward to receiving his DVD.
Dec. 5th: JON at JOHEWADO MUSIC did a superb job on the cover cases for the DVD's (we forgot to credit you on those, JON! Also, I forgot to credit Jeff Wyatt for his voice part - too many details for one mind to remember in all this activity of the past few days. My apologies!)
Dec. 4th: To Ryan's at McCann Video to get the DVD created. Very pleased with the result. Ryan did a great job with filming and with editing the camera footage he had from the extra cameras. Was a joy watching him edit the songs. The energy & vocals come across very well. That was the intention.
Dec. 3rd: SOLAR FIRE gives an electrifying performance at The Media Club, Vancouver, BC, Canada: click here for event poster
All went well considering the unforeseen complications that arose such as a vocal monitor that was not sufficient and wasn't loud enough and a wireless microphone that didn't work at the gig but worked when it arrived back at the store! Singing when you can't hear yourself well enough is difficult to say the least. Even the best laid plans cannot account for everything especially those things not in your control. The video turned out surprisingly well. Thank you all who joined us in this creation, including Jeff Wyatt who did a superb job as the background voice in 'The Kinslayer'. The song wouldn't be the same without him. Jeff, aka 'Jesus', - Many thanks! Thanks also to Stuart Derdeyn for choosing our gig as the 'Guest pick' and for writing a short story in Sunday's The Province newspaper 'Solar Fire and Nightwish Audition'.
End of Nov & Dec. 3rd - we had two rehearsals in total for the gig. One on the day of the performance! Talented musicians to all pull this off very well.

September 16: From the synergy, talent & like-mindedness, including musical tastes, Tom Yee, Victor Yong, Rolf Popp, Danny Hui, Robbie Glass & myself have decided to join together & perform a gig at the Media Club, Vancouver. This will be a 2nd band to TVRS. It will be a cover band performing rock focusing on the great harder 80's rock up to current songs with about 20% Euro-rock/metal. Songs by such bands as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Nightwish, Heart, Jefferson Starship & Queensryche will be included. For info. on Victor, Tom & Danny see Victor's site. For info. on Rolf see Live She Cries site. The video on my 'Media' page shows performances from Seattle in 1992/93. (deleted now as the new videos are up) The Media Club gig will be videotaped & the performance video will be available on this site. It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to this gig and to having an up-to-date performance video available. So if you want to know what to expect: view the video clip on 'Media' page and then envision the opera singing of Nightwish belting it! This video will show two of their songs done my way! Very much looking forward to the gig.
September 3: Had a fabulous time at the jam today in North Vancouver. Huge thanks to Tom for doing such a great job with organizing it and to the musicians who learned the new songs within the week. Singing hard rock again was a blast! Sang cover songs - Man in the Box, Welcome to the Jungle, Neon Knights, Highway Star & Dark Chest of Wonders, a not-so-easy Nightwish song. I played with very talented musicians - we performed Dark Chest well. Congrats! What a joy! Love getting into that soprano range. Looking forward to the next jam & more songs!
August: Enjoying the summer!
Mid-July: While at Mark & Cathy's weekend lectures/seminars in Calgary Mark & I discussed the possibility of having 'Glorious Days' in the major movie that is being made based on Mark & Cathy's life as written about in their second book. Mark informed me he already had the lyrics & CD laid out at home in Alabama to present to the production personnel when they arrive. I also suggested to Mark that 'Can't Step' would be very appropriate. After writing 'Can't Step' it was very apparent that it was very applicable to Mark & Cathy's life also during their struggling time. Even if an international singer (can't let it be known at this point who is being considered) performs it/them having my song(s) a part of their movie would be a great honour.
June - July: Enjoying the beautiful summer. New songs have been started with my high voice in mind.
May 24: 'Which Step Shall I Take' was aired at Media Positive radio early - at 12:10. I heard it. They played it immediately after Eva Cassidy's 'Over the Rainbow'. Very appropriate!
May 23: Tomorrow, May 24th, 'Which Step Shall I Take' will join the other songs airing on internet radio stations. From Media Positive Radio: We would also like to inform you that your song, 'Which Step Shall I Take' will have special air play on Media Positive Radio Wednesday, 05/24/06 at 1:30pm Mountain Standard Time. Pacific time is 12:30 pm. Have been listening for over an hour now - they've got some pretty cool music on - a fabulous variety! From electronic to celtic to standards to classical.

April 22: Soon to be listed with 'Sound Exchange'.
April 13: A higher melody remix of the ending of 'It's Up To Us' is on 'Media' page - #12. Enjoy! This 45-second clip is just a hint of the voice many know and love. I had chosen to keep this high voice out of the CD for two reasons. Mainly because I didn't want the CD to sound operatic and the other was cost of the project at the time. Now I wish I would have spent a couple of hours on getting some of this on the CD but here we are now, going forward.
April 12/06: Evergreen University, KAOS Radio, in Olympia, Washington has added my CD to their playlist.
March 23/06: The CD is being given moderate airplay on 90.3 KTUH FM - 'Hawaii's only alternative' radio station located in Honolulu (University of Hawaii). I had heard 'Independence Feels Good' aired on Thurs. April 6th & 'Glorious Days' aired on Thurs. Mar. 23rd. See Playlist.
March 19/06: 92.9 KISM radio show interview in Bellingham, WA. Performed 'Words' with guitarist Victor Yong. Many thanks to Pooner Clark for inviting me on his show. The whole interview went very well, he was a wonderful host. Interview clip is on the 'Media' page.
March 7/06: Member of New Music Canada and listed on that web site.
February 1/06: Peace Arch Newspaper article on page 39 titled 'CD RELEASE A FORM OF EMPOWERMENT' was 1/2 page and includes a photo from the CD. 'South Surrey resident Tracy Forsyth's powerful voice is matched by equally effective lyrics and original music.' Alex Browne did a fabulous job with the CD release article. This size of such an article had not ever been printed before by that newspaper and this speaks loads for Alex's integrity as he had said to me "people need to hear this (my music)". I am very grateful.
A video of clips from Seattle, WA performances is on the 'Media' page. Edited by myself and JON Hemingway. I also have a promo DVD containing clips of 'The Perfect Wedding' theatrical performance, biography information and songs from the CD. Edited courtesy of Doug Lucas, Ansun Productions.
Chapters TV in London, England will be airing my CD once the station gets launched. My CD will be broadcasted on the digital radio also. CD is also listed on their Chapters Ark.
