Dec 23rd: My step-uncle, Oscar Peterson, noted as being the best jazz pianist in the world for the last 60 years, passed away today.   I am reminded of how members of the Peterson family supported me & put me up for the time that I was in Toronto for my father's funeral years ago.  They are a very lovely family, generous of spirit and wonderfully supportive.  I wish them all the best through this time of transition.

Dec 2nd: We are still looking for a female back vocalist. We wish to do 'The Haunting' by Kamelot and we need a secondary female voice to be able to perform that song.  We're still in need of a keyboardist also.  

Nov 24th: I attended a showing of ENDGAME, the latest movie by Alex Jones, today (hosted by 'The Free Thinkers Club').  A riveting movie that brings history to the forefront and exposes the current agenda by the global elite - their plans for global enslavement.  I highly recommend that you see this movie and become aware of what is going on so that when changes are presented to us, in whatever form, that you will be informed and know the hidden agenda and then can do what you are called to do to prevent mass destruction & enslavement.  We, the people, have the power.  Power is in information & action.  This informing on my News page is one way I can make a difference.  I urge all of you to make a positive difference and not be or become a sheeple.  All the best on the road to freedom.  These are interesting times we live in.  Thank you, Alex Jones, for putting the pieces together and giving us the up-to-date story.  (Youtube version)

Paid the videographer the deposit for our show on Dec. 30th. Ryan McCann (McCann Video) will be doing the honours again.  A keyboardist could be on the horizon..... more to come.

Npv 1st: WOW! What a fabulous concert last night - Nightwish in Seattle.  Astounding.  Nightwish ROCKS! Yeah, the best seat is up front at the rails (except for the pack of people pushing us against the rails).  Sold out show for Nightwish.  Great!  Looking forward to the Vancouver show in May 2008! 

Oct 20th: Backstage Lounge on Granville Island on Sunday, December 30th is the place & date of our next performance.  SOLAR FIRE and REVOLUTION CALLING will perform.  Brilliant European Rock and Classic Rock/Metal.  SOLAR FIRE begins at 8:00 pm, then TVRS then REVOLUTION CALLING.  Destined to be a lot of fun!  We are in need of a female back vocalist for the set of SOLAR FIRE for 4 songs.  Next performance will include Kamelot's 'The Haunting' and we will definitely require a female voice for Simone Simons' duet part.

Sept 23rd: I've been made aware of the atrocities going on STILL at Huntingdon Life Sciences killing 500 animals a day, testing, vivisection, etc.  There are MANY people involved with ending this and MANY protests going on around the world to bring HLS down and many successes have been attained, such as disengaging ties of various degrees by companies who have connections or dealings with HLS & exposing the atrocities. I've also read about the issue of a 'no-kill policy'.  Read up info on the SHAC site at   There are numerous people, in the US & Europe, who are standing up for animal rights & lives!  More power to them.

Mark has launched a campaign to pass effective animal cruelty legislation, and has reintroduced as Bill C-373 a bill identical to the former Liberal government's C-50 from the 38th Parliament. He is hoping to make the campaign an all-party effort, and he is urging the Conservative government to introduce the bill as government legislation. Bills have been introduced in every Parliament since 1999, but died on the order paper. An earlier version of the bill was passed in 2002 and 2003 in the House of Commons, but the House and Senate could not agree on amendments. For more, please see this page.

Sept 20th: I'm looking for an original band.  The two cover bands are fine but being involved with & performing originals is the next step for fulfillment.  I am a songwriter also and am willing to add this skill to the success of the team also.  Music of Nightwish, Queensryche (DeGarmo-era), Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Brazen Abbott - is preferred.  Contact me if this is what you are requiring in a vocalist.

Jul. 12th: Solar Fire will be playing at the Lynnwood Pub on Wednesday, August 8th, 9:00 pm.  Address is: 1515 Barrow in North Vancouver.  Come and check us out for some fabulous music!!

Jul 7th: To increase our playing opportunities per month (due to some restrictions of other members of Solar Fire) Thomas & I decided to join together with some other musicians to create a second band.  Tonight we jammed with Justine Marchand - drummer and Gerald Leong - bass player.  It went well. We'll rehearse again in a couple of weeks.  This is a band with music along much the same lines - Classic Rock (Megadeth, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Sabbath, Rush, Queensryche).  We are looking for a second guitarist for this band. Re: my CD - from a bit of recent e-mailing I have had some positive responses regarding my CD and requests for the CD from some internet & traditional radio stations.  I will be mailing the CD off to Florida, Baltimore, Washington, New Jersey & UVIC.  Great to have more stations on board!

Jul. 6th: I'm very much looking forward to the Barbara Marciniak lecture and workshop in Bellevue, WA (see flyer) in August.  I've seen her lecture before and read a couple of her books.  She is fabulous & the message superb!  I also plan on attending the workshop of Barbara Hand Clow in November (see flyer).  I've read some of her books.  It seems like it will be a FINE tune up!  

Jun. 28th: SOLAR FIRE now has a myspace page (thanks to our bass player, Ken!)

Jun. 22nd: Recital is at Shaughnessy United Church -- 33rd & Granville -- at 8:00.  I will perform 'Dove sono i bei momenti' from 'Figaro', about 4th in the program.  This is a recital for the students of my vocal teacher, Lorraine Reinhardt.  Lorraine will also be performing two songs at the end of the program.  

Jun. 13th: Great rehearsal and new photos taken of the band (BAND MEMBERS page).  New songs rehearsed: 'How Can I Refuse You' - Heart, 'Freewill' - Rush, 'Hocus Pocus' - Focus.  Song list: see Apr. 14th for complete list.  We are choosing the songs for the next rehearsal -- could be 'Rearrange You' - Queensryche, 'Still Loving You' - Scorpions and 'Forever and One' - Helloween.  We are using midi now in place of the keyboardist.  It works great!  There's our keyboardist!  Performance is planned for August.  Details to come.

Jun. 6th: We are beginning to work on upcoming performances for Solar Fire.  Hope we get a great keyboardist soon!  Where are you?

May 11th: We are happy to announce KenZ has joined us as the bass player for Solar Fire.  We are still looking for a qualified keyboardist.  Since the last rehearsal we have now added 'Nemo' (Nightwish) to our song list and are working on adding songs by Queensryche & Heart next.  It's possible that Ricky may double as a keyboardist for the keyboard songs.

Apr. 16th: Received this e-mail below from Mark & Cathy Phillips (see Mar. 17th for more details) regarding the massacre that occurred in Virginia today. It is of prime importance that as many people as possible realize the information contained in this e-mail message and also become aware (if they don't know already) that there are mind-controlled assassins in the world and especially in the US.  How convenient the gunmen shot himself (or was killed-whichever way).  I'm sparing myself and not paying attention to the mass media spin of disinformation.  Here's information based on truth:

Apr. 1st: Had our first rehearsal since the gig.  We rehearsed 8 new songs.  It went very well.  A combination of rock & Euro-rock focused on guitars today.  We are searching for a keyboardist.  Danny is not able to play with us as he has a paying musical engagement that he is involved in.  I've deleted the full version of Dark Chest of Wonders off of YouTube.  I was getting more negative comments than positive.  Youtube viewers comment on what they see, which is understandable.  To write 'unforgiving' comments they obviously didn't come to this website and read about the difficulty of that performance.  Therefore I've just deleted it to keep it simple.  Unless I wanted to explain the performance in the description allowed it's better to just delete it.  The short version is still up there along with The Kinslayer.  Again, I repeat, I was very disappointed with the performance because I had to push my vocals too much to be able to hear myself over the less-than-adequate PA system.  The video turned out surprisingly well once done & edited.  An important lesson was gained that night: know your soundman and the sound system! before you schedule the gig.  Much money & time was spent preparing for that (audition for Nightwish) gig only to have the finished product - performance - come out less than brilliant.  Carrying on.  

We will definitely be adding more Nightwish songs in the rehearsals to come.  My soprano voice classically-trained loves Nightwish material.  It's astounding how well it fits! Need that keyboardist!

Great news: Scott & I have purchased a new home.  It has a beautiful garden (yeah!) and a great large workshop (yeah to both!).  We will be moving this month.  Therefore there won't be many updates until May.  This month I'll be attending Vancouver Chamber Choir performances again and am continuing my vocal lessons.  Getting great things from the lessons.  Working on a very pretty song - 'Willow Song' from the Ballad of Baby Doe which goes up to a high D.

Mar 17th: Psychiatry: An Industry of Death was a superb movie.  I watched it at the Free Thinkers Club presentation.  eZine Details: http://members.shaw.ca/freethinkersclub/newsletter.htm   Sahara is a wonderful lady, I met her at the Mark & Cathy Phillips conference in Calgary last summer.  In the past I researched quite extensively the issue of mind control and MK Ultra.  I became aware of the atrocities and was appalled that this had gone on & is still allowed to continue.  Years ago when I had asked Dr. Colin Ross a question on a radio talk show about how his clinic personnel deprogram someone or assist with someone with DID he said it starts at the beginning with the issue of abandonment that thet person went through while their parent or whom they trusted did all of the abuse/torture, etc. to them to compartmentalize them.  The answer seemed a simple & logical starting place.   The brain stem damage from the more current technology (that Kelly, Cathy's daughter, was subjected to) that the CIA doesn't admit they have (or do they now?) is a different animal.  I bring all this up to the forefront here because I'm aware again of how important the issue of mind control is from watching that movie last night.  I find it absurd & insane that MILLIONS of parents have their children on medication!  When the medications purpose is not to help the person but to serve an agenda.  I cannot believe it has gone this far with people following blindly a pseudo-science.  The movie is astounding and I totally recommend you watch it - to see the state of the world today in this regard.  If you think it does not touch someone you know you are wrong.  For anyone wanting more information on mind control I suggest you contact Mark Phillips - an authority on the subject.  He knows more than most psychiatrists.  Psychiatrists that are NOT told the truth and of what will assist but only have become, in the industry, a money making outlet for the drug companies.  Astounding.  People wake up.  America: you thought you were so great.  You have allowed yourself to decline supremely.  I pray you wake up soon (and I'm not religious).  Dr. Colin Ross is someone I highly recommend contacting if you want another authority on the subject.  From his web site:  'The Colin A. Ross Institute was formed to further the understanding of psychological trauma and its consequences by providing educational services, research, and clinical treatment of trauma based disorders'. I will say here that as you do your research with other sources be mindful that there is disinformation out there set to confuse people.  Get your knowledge from trusted sources.  Also, there is an Annual Ritual Abuse, Secretive Organizations and Mind Control Conference that occurs in the US.  When I had asked Mark in a lecture presentation years ago about this conference and had told him about one particular person was going to talk there and purport to have been mind controlled he said he and Cathy wouldn't go anywhere near that conference.  Later, in their book 'Access Denied for Reasons of National Security' he explains who this person is.  Get informed, find out who the infiltrators are.  In addition, he said that the conference was held in the State where an important head of state lives (I think he said father Bush) (as in close to keep watch on the subject).  I stayed away and didn't go to that conference.   Back to Kelly: I am so very grateful that Kelly is doing much better and that Cathy & her have a great relationship (changed from the past where Kelly would go into respiratory failure when she started to remember things - self destruction/suicidal mode of programming - cyanide pills have not been needed for a long time).  One last point of extreme importance: Disneyworld & Disney-whatever is not what it makes itself out to be.  I highly recommend Cathy & Mark's two books to read - they will change your life and your view of the world and bring you into a realm of knowledge that will assist you.  Yes, the atrocities are horrible but until you become informed and know what you can do about it and NOT follow blindly you are only a sheeple. They're creating more and more new illnesses out of 'thin-air'. Arm yourself with this important information to be aware of what's really going on... as knowledge is power!

During the discussion forum, we hope to explore alternative methods to dealing with mental 
and emotional issues, other then drug therapy. We look forward to your feedback.

A Personal thank you to David Icke for his incredible work over the years exposing the truth and bringing it to all of us.  He was the first door-opener for me.  I read about Cathy O'Brien & Mark Phillips in a magazine article about David and my researching of knowledge took off from there.  Thank you David!  You filled the niche that needed to be filled.

Mar 11th: What a wonderful concert put on by Ronnie James Dio.  Still great after all these years.  I thoroughly enjoyed the musicianship of those 'Black Sabbath' members - a total respect I have for those musicians and their talent.

Feb. 28th Thomas & I have our tickets for the Seattle performance of Nightwish on Oct. 31/07.  We are very much looking forward to it!  

Karen Single & I discussed the possibility of putting on a Metal Maidens festival here in Vancouver.  It would sure be a cool thing to do but don't know that the logistics follow favorably for us.  Is there a good enough crowd in Vancouver?  Do enough people want to see a Euro Rock-type performances? If you have suggestions and/or want to be involved let me know.  She's preparing for their next 6-month tour of Western Canada and they are looking forward to visiting Hungary again in December.  A tour of Europe is on the horizon for them also!  Their CD is great!  I and Thomas bought a copy each.  There are in particular two songs I like on that CD, songs which I want our band, Solar Fire, to perform.

Feb. 17th: This week I had an astrological reading with Tim Stephens of Astral Reflections.  I highly recommend him if you wish to consider how the planetary aspects affect your life, career, relationships, etc.  I have been made aware of a multitude of things.  Great things are ahead!  If you've been putting out 150% and the universe is not giving back reciprocally maybe it's because 'Luck is more important than skill'.  Knowledge of astrology relating to your life is going to bring light & understanding to you.  You can then travel on a path conducive to who you are.  Musically: Solar Fire will begin rehearsals in March and Ricky Cheung will take over Victor's position of second guitarist.  I'm enjoying the variety of the opera and the lounge material at the vocal lessons. 

Feb 4th: Solar Fire will continue to rehearse on a part-time basis with all the members with the probable exception of Victor.  To be confirmed.  Victor has recently joined 'Oriental Express' that will have a regular engagement in Richmond.  We will find another guitarist if Victor isn't available or else Thomas will cover all the necessary guitar parts.  For vocal variety and to enhance my vocal range I will be learning some lower range lounge material (such as Lena Horne-type songs) as well as the higher range opera/oratorio material.

Jan. 22nd: The short clips have been deleted from the website and I changed the format of the full versions to streaming per Nightwish sub-publishing co.'s request (link now takes you to YouTube).  Still awaiting permission from EMI rep. in New York about the Burn song version.
